Part 1: Creation

The following short story is based on Ryan Trahan's Minecraft video 'I Got a Horse'

How does one build a copper golem, you may ask? It is really quite simple. All that is required is that you place a pumpkin on a copper block and use shears on the pumpkin. After the pumpkin is sheared, the golem will appear!

The following story is not about just any copper golem. No, no. This story is about Cooper the Copper Golem who was created by Ryan3000…

Ryan began the process of making the copper golem as anyone would, by placing a copper block. 

“Harr!” Ryan heard outside of the Chicken House.

This, of course, was the sound of a pillager! Ryan immediately stopped his copper golem creation and left the Chicken House to deal with the pesky pillagers.

Using his mighty arrows and his diamond sword, Ryan vanquished the first pillager. The second pillager came behind the first, with a tall hat on his head and a crossbow in his hands. Ryan dodged the enemy arrows expertly until the second pillager was no more. A third had remained at a distance but did not run. He stayed in one place until Ryan fought him, sealing his doomed demise.

Satisfied with the victory, Ryan returned to the Chicken House to continue the creation of the copper golem.

Ryan placed a pumpkin on the copper block. He raised the shears. And Cooper the Copper Gollum was born. Although he was not given his name yet.

Ryan’s jaw dropped and his face was frozen in a state of shock. He could not believe the incredible sight of the copper golem before him.

Cooper strutted off of his copper chest and turned to face his master, Ryan.

“Hello!” Ryan greeted enthusiastically.

Cooper, a very curious little golem, opened his chest to check its contents. He found it to be empty. Even though this particular chest is empty, he still must register its contents into his brain by quickly turning his head around like an owl. Afterall, his entire purpose as a copper golem is to sort Master Ryan’s chests.

“What do I do with this?” Master Ryan asked with a big smile.

Cooper wanted to get a better look inside his chest to make sure it was entirely empty. He stood on a nearby crafting table and was about to open the chest when Master Ryan took it away.

“I love it,” he said. “Oh my gosh, I really like this guy.”

The two stared at each other. While Cooper was happy to hear that Master Ryan liked him, he was more curious about what he planned to do with his copper chest.

“Hello!” Master Ryan greeted again. “What are you- is this your stuff? I don’t know.”

Master Ryan walked down a wooden hallway.

“We can put the copper guy right here,” Cooper heard him say and sensed that his chest was placed in the room.

“I don’t know- Ooooh is this like a fancy chest?” Master Ryan asked while Cooper made his way to the new room.

He found his orange chest in the corner. Next to it were two large chests on top of each other. Across the small room were two more chests.

“Are you gonna organize my stuff?”

Of course, Master Ryan! It is my duty, the copper golem thought to himself while opening his chest again. Yes, it was empty a few seconds ago, but who knows if Master Ryan might have put an item inside since then!

“Oh, he’s checking. Maybe I should put all my valuables in there.”

Master Ryan left the room, perhaps to find the valuables he mentioned.

“I feel like that’s really fun. Okay. And then also a grindstone. So, we need stone and we need to make slabs.”

Master Ryan started looking a bit like a copper golem himself as he dug through some of his chests for the items he needed. He continued to talk about making a grindstone. It seemed like he was talking to a group of people that Cooper hadn’t seen or met yet. The copper golem stopped listening to Master Ryan so he could focus on chest sorting.

Cooper decided that standing on his chest allowed him to easily open three chests at once: the copper chest and the two large chests next to it.

The top chest was very interesting. It seemed to have nature-related items such as: stones, moss trees, moss carpet, a lone feather, and rotten flesh. The strangest thing that the copper golem noticed in this chest was the amount of eggs. Truly, it was an absurd amount of eggs. 

Master Ryan must be a chicken farmer or something, the copper golem thought.

He began listening to what Master Ryan was talking about in the other room. He kept mentioning enchantments! 

Is Master Ryan a wizard chicken farmer?

The copper golem took a peak around the corner and saw Master Ryan unsheath a diamond sword.

“Bane of Anthropods? Arthropods? I keep saying ‘anthro’. Sorry guys.”

Cooper knew that arthropods are typically insects or creatures with exoskeletons. He also knew that a ‘bane’ was a thing that caused distress to another thing.

If that magic sword is a bane of arthropods then I’m glad I’m a copper golem and not a spider!

Master Ryan also mentioned finding a cat and bringing it home.

The copper golem hopes that the cat can be his new friend.
